Here at Rubberstamps.com, we are firm believers that affordability doesn’t mean skimping on quality. These stamped book page bags, inspired by Craft and Creativity, are the perfect example of a unique gift that saves big.
With Easter right around the corner, these gift bags are an excellent alternative or addition to traditional Easter baskets. The vintage-inspired stamps we chose also make the bags great for any springtime party.
Have an old book lying around the house? Perfect! If not, don’t worry. We found a worn dictionary and a book about indoor plants at Goodwill that worked just fine. Tear out a page and lay it horizontally in front of you. Fold the top edge over. This will be the opening of your bag, so it doesn’t have to be a big fold.
Fold the right and left sides of the page in until they meet in the middle. Tape them down using washi tape. We found some nice pastel-colored designs at Michaels – perfect to add a splash of color!
Fold the bottom edge up. The bigger the fold, the bigger the base of your bag will be.
Open up the bottom fold and push it down so that the corners create triangles and the seams line up.
Take the top and bottom edges of the base and fold them to the center crease so that the seams line up. Tape the folds down. You’ve created a bag!
Stamp your bag with black ink and one of our vintage-style springtime stamps:
Fill your bag with candy and other goodies! Fold the top and secure it with a clothespin – we got ours from Michaels.
Stamp a piece of paper with our Chick Gift Tag Stamp, cut it out, and attach it to a die-cut shape (these are also from Michaels). Clip the tag to the bag.
And there you have it – Easter crafting made easy! Just by reusing old items around the house, you can produce beautiful and useful products for the holidays or all year long!
